Hedgehogs

We made yummy hedgehogs following a book that the stars reading group were reading. We all had a wonderful afternoon making and eating our treats.

Mr Stuart's rain jacket has 20 holes in it! Room 4's challenge is to choose a material that they think is waterproof to fix his jacket. Then we are going to see if it's really waterproof by dropping a bucket of water on Mr Stuart! - I hope he has some spare clothes!

What is waterproof?

We made people and dressed them in material that we thought would be waterproof. We then squirted them with water to see if we were right. Some of us had some more thinking to do!
We found 6 materials in our classroom that were waterproof. These were: plastic bags, plastic card, tarpaulin, silk, polar fleece, and synthetic material.

Inquiry Term One - Why do Socks Get Wet and Not Shoes?

Our Inquiry this term was on what makes things waterproof.
We tested things that we thought were waterproof in a bucket of water. We found out that waterproof things dried quickly, the material didn’t let the water through, and lots of the water dripped of it.
